Register your Newly Qualified Teachers with OTSA as the Appropriate Body for NQT Induction to benefit from a service designed by experienced school-based NQT Induction Co-ordinators. Induction with OTSA goes beyond the minimum statutory requirements to ensure the best possible start to the careers of our next generation of teachers.
NQTs registered with OTSA have priority, discounted, access to a range of support programmes and training specifically designed for NQTs in primary, secondary and special schools.
NQT Induction Training - September 2016
It is a requirement of registration with OTSA that all NQTs, Induction Tutors and Co-ordinators, who have not previously been registered with OTSA, complete NQT Induction Training at the beginning of the Induction Period.
Online Video Training
This year we have decided to trial the use of online videos, rather than webinars, to allow participants to complete the training. We have made this decision as a number of schools have experienced technical difficulties when trying to connect to a webinar in school, but also we feel that this offers greater flexibility to participants. We would still recommend that NQTs and Induction tutors watch the videos together, or even as a group of NQTs and Induction Tutors.
The 7 videos last a total of 25 minutes and are on the NQT Induction Training Page.
We have created an online form at the bottom of the video training page so that you can contact us easily if you have any further questions. One of the team will will email or call you to follow up your request.
The PowerPoint that is used in the webinar may be downloaded from the Personalised Induction Programme page.
Note: Assessment forms submitted after the published deadline may not be reviewed until the beginning of the following term and therefore may delay the completion of the induction period.
The dates for the submission of Assessment Foms for full time NQTs for 2016/17 are:
Friday 9 December 2016
Friday 31 March 2017
Friday 7 July 2017
In each case this is a week before the end of term. Please ensure that you follow the guidance and meet these deadlines to ensure the successful completion of Induction.
All statutory Assessment Forms are submitted securely online using NQT Manager.
