Register for induction
It is vital to register for both statutory induction and the Early Career Training Programme.
Before registering an ECT, please check that the post is suitable for induction.
There are two parts to the registration process - schools must register an ECT for statutory induction with OTSA and also on the DfE online service for the Early Career Training Programme (ECTP). Schools must ensure that both parts of the registration process are completed. If one part is missed, the ECT will not be registered and this will delay the start of ECT induction.
1. Register ECT for Statutory Induction
Choose either option A or option B and then sign the online service level agreement.
Option A
Complete and return an ECT registration form for each ECT by email to ect@otsa.org.uk
Option B
Register each ECT on ECT Manager
Service Level Agreement
The Service Level Agreement (SLA) is intended to define the Early Career Teacher induction services provided by the OTSA Appropriate Body / Oxfordshire Teaching School Hub, as well as the responsibilities of the employing organisation. The headteacher or principal of the the employing organisation is required to digitally sign the SLA before we register the ECT with the DfE.
2. Register ECT and Mentor for Early Career Training Programme (ECTP)
Sign in to the DfE 'Register Early Career Teachers' service to register your early career teachers and mentors. If you have not used the service to register ECTs before you will need to request authorisation from your school.
