MTPT Project
Maternity Teacher Paternity Teacher Project is a charity for parent teachers providing support for pregnant and expectant staff, networking, coaching and professional development during parental leave, return to work workshops and coaching support.
TheOTSA has paid for teachers, support staff and central trust colleagues in our region to participate in the following programmes as part of our aim to support partner schools with retention.
Return to Work Workshops
Returning to work following a period of maternity leave can be a nerve-wracking experience, exacerbated by the emotions surrounding leaving a small baby for the first time.
But with our 90 minute workshop, we'll get you feeling confident and prepared for your return!
As well as detailing key legal information and sharing expectations of best practice, you'll benefit from a coaching-style approach giving you the headspace to consider what you need now, the boundaries you can set, what you want your life to look like as a parent-teacher, and the chance to share tips to get organised at home and at school.

Parental Leave Group Coaching
It can be easy to feel isolated or drifting on your parental leave, particularly if you are used to the bustle and pace of school and the classroom.
The MTPT Project's Parental Leave Group Coaching programme brings you together with other colleagues on leave to share experiences, motivate yourself with personalised goals, and celebrate as you grow and flourish with your new baby.
In three 60 minute Zoom sessions, we'll focus on key themes relevant to The MTPT Project community:
- Transition and Identity: who am I now?
- Limiting Beliefs: what's holding me back?
- Empowering Visions: where do I want to go?
