Racial Equity Network

In July 2025, representatives from OTT/OTSA/OTSH and partner schools attended the Racial Equity Network Dinner, organised by the Chiltern Teaching School Hub in Luton. It was a powerful and inspiring event, reminding us that while progress has been made, there is still more to do in building a teaching workforce that truly reflects the society we serve.

With the appointment of Isabel Mupita as the Racial Equity Network Lead, our partnership of schools is committed to fostering greater equality, diversity, and representation across Oxfordshire.

Message from Isabel Mupita

Together, we will work towards these initial aims:

- To create a safe and open space for anyone in education who would like to be involved

- To focus on positivity, inspiration, and celebration

- To develop a sustainable network which actively champions and values our differences

To shape three main strands of focus as follows:

- Promotion and celebration of an anti-racist curriculum and inclusive school communities.

- Recruitment and retention of a more diverse workforce.

- Ambition, aspiration, and opportunity for all staff to meet individual career goals.

Our goal is to host our first Racial Equity Network event during the 2025/26 academic year – a chance to come together, share ideas, and celebrate diversity. We hope to see as many colleagues and education partners as possible joining us on this important journey.
