Racial Equity Network
Join us for our first OTSA Racial Equity Network Celebration on Thursday 2 July 2026 at the Oxford Holiday Inn.
The evening promises to be meaningful and uplifting, offering a chance to celebrate our region’s diversity, hear thematic contributions and connect with colleagues committed to equity in education - all within a supportive and welcoming space.
Established in 2025, the OTSA Racial Equity Network brings together colleagues with a shared vision for our schools to be places where diversity is celebrated, safe spaces are intentionally created, and racial equity principles are embedded into everyday practice.
This celebration will reflect key themes explored in Network meetings, including:
• Authenticity and supportive work environments
• Wellbeing
• Inclusive teaching environments
Together, these themes speak directly to the experiences of those from the global majority, the cultures we foster in our schools, and the long-term sustainability of our education system.
Together, the network will work towards these initial aims:
- To create a safe and open space for anyone in education who would like to be involved
- To focus on positivity, inspiration, and celebration
- To develop a sustainable network which actively champions and values our differences
To shape three main strands of focus as follows:
- Promotion and celebration of an anti-racist curriculum and inclusive school communities.
- Recruitment and retention of a more diverse workforce.
- Ambition, aspiration, and opportunity for all staff to meet individual career goals.
Our goal is to host our first Racial Equity Network celebration event during the 2025/26 academic year – a chance to come together, share ideas, and celebrate diversity. We hope to see as many colleagues and education partners as possible joining us on this important journey.
