Post 16 Freelance Teachers
As part of our work to support partner schools with recruitment and retention, OTSA has created a database of retired, retiring and part-time teachers with successful experience of teaching A Level and other post-16 courses, who are available to provide paid cover for schools who are faced with temporary gaps in their sixth-form staffing.
To provide flexibility, teaching might take place in person, online or a combination of both depending on the circumstances.

When opportunities arise, for which your answers suggest you might be a good match, we will contact you to discuss a possible deployment.
Schools
The idea to create a post-16 freelance teacher database was hatched as part of a conversation about the difficulties of covering long-term sixth form teacher absences, particularly in subjects with only one or two specialist teachers in a school.
We currently have a database of about 30 post-16 teachers who are available to provide temporary cover for long-term absences or gaps in staffing.
If you are aware of any retired, retiring or part-time colleagues that might be interested in joining the database, please point them in the direction of the registration form.
If you are a partner school with a temporary post-16 vacancy that needs covering, contact us and we'll search the database. If we find someone who might be a good match we'll put you in touch.
